Shipped eggs 101
SHIPPED EGGS ARE NOT LIKE YOUR OWN FROM YOUR BACK YARD!
Shipping eggs can be traumatic for them you need to do a few little things to get the best hatch!
Temp 99.5 to 101
Humidity 45 to 55%
When you receive your eggs please candle if you can to see the condition of the air cell. If it is wobbly at all or detached you will handle them differently.
Shipped eggs should NEVER be laid down in an incubator immediately. If you are using a lay down type then you will need to cut egg cartons to fit. They should be placed pointy end down and kept up right for the 1st 3 to 5 days.
If the air cell is damaged 5 days if not then 3 days.
I recommend pouring a little peroxide (1:4 peroxide to water) in the humidity water to help with hatch if you are above 3500 feet in elevation.
When you receive them you will let the rest to come to room temperature over night. If they were delayed in shipping then just put straight into the incubator upright with no turn.
NEVER let the rest more than to the next day.. You want them into the incubator within 10 days of being laid for the best results!!!
You are always welcome to message me with any questions.. I have held many hands of beginners and helped them get a good hatch.
On shipped eggs 50% hatch is considered a great hatch.
REMEMBER!!! I HAVE LIMITS SET FOR A REASON!!! THAT IS THE MAX AMOUNT OF EGGS I CAN GATHER WITHIN A 3 DAY PERIOD!!!
